This week was a great week! I just want to start out by saying that Dangriga is crazy. The people here are definitely unique to say the least.
But today more than anything I want to talk about 2 people.
1 is Sister Devona. Sister Devona is a less active member who I have now visit 2 times and we are going back on Wednesday. She is a great lady. We started talking to her and obviously invited her to come back to church. We explained the importance to church and helped her kinda remember what she already knew, why she was baptized and why the church is good and true and everything. Then she told us that she has a 9 year old daughter and doesn't understand why she needs to be baptized.
So we explained to her how children under 8 are without sin because they are not responsible for there actions they are innocent. But when we are 8 and up God has said we are responsible for our actions cause we understand the difference between right and wrong. It was awesome. She then told us she wants her daughter to be baptized. And so we are gonna b teaching her with the mom and so now the mom will come back to church and be a great example for her daughter,
The next person I want to talk about is named Edgar. He is 91 years old but still does everything on his own the guy is strong and lives by himself. The only thing is its a little harder for him to hear but he still hears u just gotta talk a little longer. But the missionaries before were visiting him so I came and we kept visiting him.
He is a great man and has a desire to follow Christ and even has come to church a couple times before but never agreed to be baptized cause he felt like he needed more time. But yesterday I explained to him simply that God wants him to be baptized so that he can be closer to Jesus Christ and follow his example. Just super simple just like that and now he wants to be baptized. Super awesome experience. I love my mission and hope that these people keep progressing towards Jesus Christ.
I love all of you, especially my family. I will definitely write more next week and include some pictures love you all!
