Subject: Re: Great week!
Hey Family and Friends, this week was a huge success! My companion and I have been working super hard to do the Lords work here and we are seeing the fruits of our labor. Yesterday I had the opportunity to take part in my first baptism! Her name is Jennifer and she is 14 years old. We found her 3 weeks ago and she asked me to be the one to perform the baptism so I did the baptism and my companion did the confirmation. It was a super cool experience and I am so happy to be here. Today is also my 2 month mark so that's pretty cool! The time here is really hard but it goes by quickly. I love the people here. We also had a lot of less actives come to church this week, which is huge. That makes me so happy because we try and visit 25 less active families every week, this week we made our goal we visited or contacted exactly 25 less active or recent convert families and we had a lot more of them come to church. It was awesome.
I want to give an example of how open the people are here. So earlier this week I went on exchanges with one of my zone leaders. Which basically means that spent a day working with my zone leader in his area. We were doing some contacting and every single person would talk with us! It was awesome. But anyways the example..we were contacting and this lady was in her house making tortillas. So we were like "Hey can we help you make your tortillas and talk with you about God?" And she was like sure why not. So we went into her house and made tortillas and talked with her about the Restoration. It was super cool. For those of you who don't know Spanish, El Salvador(the country I am currently serving in) means literally the Savior. I am literally a representative of Jesus Christ in El Salvador. How cool is that? I think that's pretty cool.
Another thing that's really funny here is that on the public buses we use a lot for transportation I am always the only white person on the bus, and I am really tall. So everyone always stares at me when I am on the bus and it is super funny. The people here and so cool and so different than the people in the states it is unbelievable. I am definitely not coming home the same.
Okay so to end I want to just tell everyone in simple terms that this is super hard. And that I really cant do this alone. That is why I am so glad that I have The Savior in my life who helps me every single day. He bears me up. I want to thank everyone who is a support for me while I am out here. Especially my family. Thank you. I love all of you. Until next week!
