Hello family and friends!
This week was successful! Me and my companion are working super hard and the blessings are coming. We had a recent convert and an investigator come to church this week which is awesome because they both hardly ever come to church. I am continually amazed with this country. Every day is a different experience. We are getting into the rainy season here and raining here is way different than rain in Arizona. Like if you are out in the rain for 5 seconds you are drenched. Its pretty cool! I am currently teaching a lot of people English and I am going to start teaching English classes at the church for investigators less actives and just anyone who wants to come! Knowing English is a great missionary tool here because everyone wants to learn English in this country. For better jobs and some signs and stuff are in English.
So I got to do a session in the El Salvador San Salvador temple last Tuesday. It was such a great experience! Seriously my new favorite temple. So cool. What a blessing it was to be able to do that and to feel that spirit that comes from attending the temple. I am continuing to love the people here more and more every day. The way they are, it is impossible not to love them. I am learning a ton from the culture that exists here and their are parts of this culture that are definitely becoming part of who I am. I am not going to come back home the same haha. I am learning a lot about how to work hard. It is not easy to be a missionary.
One thing that I think is really different about this country is that their is no such thing as a cross walk. So I am J walking across crazy streets every day. Its super fun haha but also scazy because the cars do not slow down.
The last thing I want to talk about today is the beauty of sharing the gospel. I am so grateful for this opportunity I have to share the gospel. Their is something special about being a missionary. You are giving the Lord more than you ever have before in your entire life and in turn he works miracles in your life and in the life of those around you and those you care about. I wouldn't trade a day here for anything. I know this church is true. I know that as we strive to follow our Savior Jesus Christ we will have increase joy and happiness in this life and eternal life after we die. I hope everyone has a great week!
Love,
Elder Burris
