Hey Family and Friends!
Today was a great week, the language is really starting to come and I honestly come to love the people here more and more every day. I want to start out this letter with an experience I had this week.
This week me and my companion Elder Chavez went to visit a less active famiy. And one of the people in this family is a super old guy who is blind. He has been blind since he was born and can barely hear. He read a part of the Book of Mormon to us in brail which was super cool to see. Then to my surprise he whiped out a guitar and started playing it. It was super super super cool. And this experience really made me realize that their are alot of things I want to learn. Because I have that ability. This man was born blind and what does he do? He decides he wants to learn how to play the guitar and he does it! For me, this comes as a wake up call. I need to be using my time to learn.
Also this week me and my companion found a newly wedded catholic family who is interested in hearing from us. So we taught them the first lesson and it went pretty well and they want us to come back so we will see if that goes somewhere or not, only time will tell!
So I mentioned that I am loving the people here more and more each day. I want to talk a little more about this. I am realizing that the people here just want someone to listen to them. This is something my trainer taught me. He said in lessons and visits with less active members or recent converts a lot of the time he just says ¨yeah¨ or your right because the people just need someone to come listen to them. I honestly feel like that's one of the reasons I am here is to come and listen to people because a lot of time, listening is more helpful than talking. Anyways, I love you guys. I hope all of you have a great week!
