Hey guys, so this week was a good one let me tell you about it.
So this week I got a new companion. Again. My old companion Elder Melendez left for his house because his mom is really sick and he needs to be with her. So last Tuesday I went on interchanges to another area. I went to the area of my district leader and it was super cool because I was with another missionary from Utah and I got to talk english! Then that night I found out that the next day my comp was leaving and that I would be getting a new one. So that was nuts and I was worried because my comp knew the area and I didnt. I had only worked in the area for 5 days and then he left and so I am basically opening up an area with my new companion that I got last wednsday. He is also a mini misisonary but hes super cool and we get along well. SO this week has been kinda difficult in the sense that we dont know the area. But we learned it and I knew the couple things that were most important to remember so it all worked out.
Its been a big change from being junior companion to being senior companion with a mini missionary. But its been super fun at the same time for real. So just for those of you who do not know what a mini missionary is a mini missionary is someone that is preparing for a mission has submitted their papers and wants a bit more experience before coming out on the mission for real. So they usually come out for one transfer or 6 weeks. So my comp will be here till the end of this transfer then he is leaving for his house to prepare for his real mission and this time does not count towards their 2 year mission. So literally my companion left his house in the morning and came and started working here in the field with me the same afternoon. They arent set apart as missionaries or anything. But its super cool and a great opportunity for me to learn and grow.
This area is super awesome but its a hard area. Its like the city and the people are pretty mean. Some are nice but a lot are mean. So this week we did a lot of contacting and asking members for references and we got a lot of help that way and things are going well now. But I honestly love this area. I love the people and their are people here who are ready to hear the gospel.
Also this week we had a baptism! A girl named Lucy got baptized! She is 11 and her mom is also investigating the church and will be baptized in March. She is just seperating from her boyfriend thats why she cant right now but she is super positive and they are a great family. Their will be a picture attatched for you guys to see as well dont worry ;)
But thats really all I have for this week, I love each and every one of you and just want to invit you to keep doing your best and to always center your lives on Christ. Through him and through relying on his atonement we recieve peace and happiness. When Jesus died he died for all of us and for all of our sins and shortcomings. Sometimes we all wish we could have this or that or do this or that better or should have could have and all that but when we think that way we forget about the infinite power of the atonement. Just focus on Christ and trust in him and do your best.
Have a great week!
