This week was a great week! I really enjoyed it and their were a couple things that happened that I would really love to share with you guys.
So first off this last Saturday we had the opportunity to have a special conference with Elder Cook! One of the 12 apostles! It was soo gooooood! He came and all 3 of the missions of El Salvador attended. Their were over 600 missionaries in the church building right next to the temple and we had the chance to hear from Elder Cook. He is such an incredible man. Before he spoke to us, he shook every one of our hands and it was a special experience for me. He talked about how we as missionaries are ward and branch builders. That we have the job of building the kingdom of God where we are serving. Which is so true. Before I felt a ton of love for every single person in my area. I love these people and love serving them. But after his talk, this last sunday so yesterday I felt that love even more. The mission is not an easy experience but when I changed my mind set a little bit to think about how its my responsibility to help these people come closer to Christ things got a little bit easier. I learned a lot from that. We truly can fulfill every single responsibility that we are given by our father in heaven. (1 nephi 3 7) He will never ask us to do anything that we are not able to do. to qualify for this divine help we need to do the things and be triying to do the things that our Father in Heaven has commanded us. And if we do that, every responsibility that we have and our given we will be able to handle. For my case I am a missionary and have been called of God and set apart to be a missionary and preach the Gospel. In some other cases people are married with kids or going to college or whatever thing people are doing and through trying to do the will of our Father in Heaven and keeping his commandments we are able to fulfill these responsibilities that our ours.
This week we worked really hard in our area. Last week we only had 1 person progressing as an investigator and this week we now have 5. We taught lessons this week where I felt the spirit very strong. I feel like now the mission is still hard but I have learned a bit more about patience and humility and so I just kinda go with the flow and hand in there and move on when things dont go exactly how I would like. Honestly the mission is an incredible experience and I love it a ton. I wouldnt give up a day here for anything.
Its still something really cool and special for me to be here and be a missionary. Its so cool to be a missionary here. We leave the house, walk or get a on a bus and go and teach people the gospel. Every day we also talk to people in the street and in their houses who we do not know and bear our testimonies to them and offer them to share a message about Jesus Christ that we know can bless their lives and its such a cool experience to do that. To walk up to someones house and maybe they are watching tv or something and you can see because their door is open or they are cooking something or just talking and you tell them that you represent Jesus Christ and represent him. That you are there to share with them something about what you believe and that it has blessed your life. And to see the spirit bear testimony to people that what you are saying is true and that you are really a represantitive of Jesus Christ and they can understand you and they tell you that you can come back and they dont even know who you are but they feel the spirit. I love being a missionary. I love the work and I know I am not perfect but I am learning alot haha. I love you guys have a great week! If any of you have a specific question ask and I will respond in this email :)
