This week was very special for me. I have loved it with all of my heart and I saw a lot of interesting things. a lot of cool little experiences that I would like to share with you guys today.
So first off, to get here it was an hour and a half boat ride which was absolutely beautiful. Me and another missionary who came over from El Salvador named Elder Sweat got dropped off at the dock and were told where we bought our tickets and that our boat left at 1:30 and then they left. So we went and bought our tickets waited and got on the boat around 1 15 and at 1 30 we took off. It was beautiful that boat ride.
After that me and my companion just started working and getting to know the people. The people here and very friendly and loving. I already love them so much.
So something really crazy happened that I would like to share with you guys. So we were walking around getting to know some of the people and their was a guy outside of his house cutting down a palm tree in his front yard. So we asked him if he needed help and he said yes so we went and started helping him. He handed us a rope and told us to start pulling on the rope to pull the tree down so we started to pull on the rope and get a swing down to pull down the palm tree. But the rope was really thin and not very strong so it wasn't pulling the palm tree that much. So he cut the tree enough to where it fell over, but when it fell over it fell onto his fence in his front yard and not onto the grass that was there in his front yard...So it was super awkward cause he broke his fence and we were just standing there not really knowing what we should do. But then we told him about how we are missionaries and stuff and we might go back one day.
But really this place is beautiful. I am so happy that I have the chance to serve in such a beautiful place. The members are very loving. The people too, like we are talking to a lot of people and a lot of them are willing to listen to the message we share. The culture here is also very diverse. Like for example this morning I got my hair cut and a guy from Lebanon cut it, so he is from the middle east but is living here in Belize. Just stuff like that shows how diverse the people here are. So that is really cool to see. I will be sending pictures too so don't worry!
The gospel is true wherever you are. I love it so much and really am so grateful for the opportunity that I have to be here in the mission. I cant believe that I have already been out for over a year, what a blessing.
I hope all of you have a fantastic week!
