SO another week has passed in the mission. I do not know where the time goes! But here we are right. Anyways here are a couple things that happened this week here in El Salvador..
So first I want to talk about my district and how cool it is. Their are 4 people in my district, and all 4 of us are from different countries. I am from the US, my companion is from Honduras, the other two missionaries one is from Mexico and the other is from the Dominican Rpublic. So its pretty fun! And you could easily say that all of us are very different. Like its super funny how different we are. I love it I am never bored. Its fun being around these guys. The missionary from the dominican republic is pretty crazy. He says "activo" like very 5 seconds. Which means "active",
But I honestly have no idea why he always says that and neither does anyone else. Its pretty funny. And he eats everything with a knife no one knows why he does that either. Haha.
So were teaching this 14 year old kid named Emmerson English and he is getting more interested in the church. Its cool to see the change, the problem is that his parents are supr catholic and dont want anything to do with Lds people. thats why we just teach him english. Its really cool and he is al really great kid. Its cool to be here and just serve others. I am perfectly happy spending my time to help him and be a good infuence in his life, mayb someday it will lead him into joining the church.
This week we also worked really hard with Less Active members and the fruits of our labors really showed this week on Sunday. Their were a lot of new faces that showed up to church this week from my area and its because we prayed and worked with these people to help them come back to church. I am realizing more and more how important it is to work with less actives and recent converts. As missionaries we can make a big diffrence with these people. We can help these people come back to church and recieve the blessings from God that come from church attendance.
So we had a lesson yesterday with a lady named Marivel Mendez. She is 43 more or less years old. Yesterday we were talking to here before the lesson and she told us that she has a strong desire to be baptized, and we were like alright we can help you with that haha. So we taught her the first lesson and invited her to be baptized on the 12th of December. She accepted the date and so we will see if it goes through but I am optomistic. So cool to see how the gospel changes peoples lives.
I lov this gospel. I love being a missionary. I cant think of a better way at this time in my life to show my father in heaven that I love him. I know that this church is true, that Jesus Christ established it during his time here one the earth. I know that through living the gospel we can be happy and we can live our lives how it says in the scriptures, "after the manner of happiness". I love all of you and hope that you all have a great week!
With much love,
