Okay, to start out this letter I just want to say how happy I am and grateful I am to be here and have this experience to serve. I am really learning so much. Every day there is something all of us can learn, and that is something that I am really grateful for. This week was a really good week! We got one of our investigators, whose name is Louise, to come to church. He hasn't come in months and last Sunday he came, which is super awesome. I want to talk a little bit about the experience I had with teaching Louise. So this last week we visited Louise and we were talking to him about baptism. He always says he wants to be baptized, and he truly does, he just has a hard time having a desire to come to church.
I had the opportunity during this lesson to bear my testimony and teach with the spirit about how if he does not come to church he cant be baptized. And that God wants him to be baptized so that he can receive the happiness and increased blessings that come with it. During this lesson I felt the spirit really strong and I know that I said what my Heavenly Father wanted me to say. what a neat experience that was. Then to top it all off he came to church! This really is the work of God. I am still shocked at how beautiful this country is. The mountains are like nothing I have ever seen. The trees are beautiful and their are a ton of them. The rain is like nothing I have ever seen before. Yesterday their was a storm and the lighting at one time was so loud that I thought it popped my eardrum, it was super scary actually.
SO this week we had a baptism! We baptized a lady named Brenda and she has 2 little kids. Her husband isnt around but her kids are and I hope that as her kids grow up Brenda will be able to raise her children in the Gospel. What a blessing it is for her to have the gift of the Holy Ghost. I actually was the one who comfirmed her a member of the church in sacrament meeting yesterday. It was super neat! I was really nervous but the words came and once I started giving the blessing I felt at peace. I blessed Brenda that she would be able to have the spirit guide her in all things in her life, and that she would be able to tell the difference after recieving the Holy Ghost in her life and in the life of her family.
Then at church yesterday I also had to give the lesson in the Gospel Principles class. It went pretty well actually and I just love these people so much. The people here are super humble. We were talking about obedience and about why we need to follow the commandments. And for every single person in the room it was sufficent to say that we need to follow the commandments because its what God wants us to do. That for me shows alot of faith and it touched my heart to hear the people in the class say that. They just want to follow the example of Jesus Christ.
Something else cool that happened this week it I helped one of our investigators make chocolate! She sells chocolate and so me and my companion helped her put her chocolate is little bags and all that. It was cool! Then after we talked to her about faith repentance and baptism. It was a really spiritual lesson and I really felt my love for the people of this country increase even more!
Well, I love you guys. Thank you for all of the love and support. I appreciate all of you and I hope that these letters are helping to strengthen you all in the Gospel. Until next week!
