Hello family and friends, so if you did not already hear I got transferred and it was a bit different this change, I GOT TRANSFERED INTO BELIZE!!! So I am in Belize right now and it is sooooo awesome here! The people here are so cool and so different. So let me start from the beginning of how I got here and all that.
SO Saturday afternoon I got a call that I would be heading off to Belize, and so sunday night I packed up and Monday morning went to the mission office and went to immigration and did a whole bunch of little stuff like immigration taking pictures and everything else that I had to do before I took off and came here to Belize, then later that day with 7 other missionaries I got on a plane and left El Salvador flew over Guatemala and came here and landed in Belize city.
Wow is it different here! So here is literally like a melting pot of different people and cultures. Their are a lot of black people that are like the real black people straight out of Africa. They speak their native african language and also english and krail. Everyone in this country knows very well at least 2 languages. But anyways I am getting a little off track. SO I landed in Belize and got on a bus and took a 3 and a half hour bus ride to here where I am at now its called Benque Viejo which translates into Old Bank. Benque is bank in Krail and Viejo is old in spanish. These guys will literally talk to you sometimes using krail english and spanish all in the same sentence its so cool and so nuts.
So anyway my area is literally on the boarder between Guatemala and Belize. SO the end of my area is the border between the two countries so I am serving where their is still a lot of spanish. But people here also speak english most of them so thats cool too. SO on this bus ride I got to take a bus through a good part of this country of Belize and I have gotta say that this is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. SO COOL here. I love it.
Heres a little bit about my new comp. First of all he is awesome. He is from Guatemala and doesnt know hardly any english but he is learning and studies very hard to do his best to learn it. He came over from El Salvador 6 weeks before I did so he is pretty new to the country as well and he is a really good guy and a really good companion.
So my area is literally like a village. Its pretty small and very tropical. The sun is already destroying me but that is alright. Its so pretty. As far as working here you could say its pretty hard cause that is just how Belize is that is why they do not send new missionaries here and that is why everyone doesn't come. Its harder to work here than it is to work in El Salvador.
And that is because their are not very many members. We have a group of about 70 or so members between me my comp and 2 other missionaries which is very very small. Only 20 something people come to church on average every week here and so there is a lot of work to do. But we are doing our best and I am excited to be here I love it. I am running out of time so I will write more next week but this place is soo cool and so beautiful and the people here are cool too. I love you all have a wonderful week!
