Hey family and friends, so this week was a pretty interesting week because it was changes week! So now I am officially done with my training! So that feels soo good. My trainer, Elder Chavez, changed areas and is now serving in the office as the immigration coordinator for all those who will be going to Belize. SO I am here still in Lourdes, with a new companion named Elder Black. Its pretty weird to have a new companion to be honest. But he is super good super cool so its great. Change is a good thing! But yeah Elder Black is 23 years old so He has over 4.5 years on me so that's a little different. What happened is that he actually came out on his mission when he was 19. But he got super sick with salmonella and had to come home after 10 months. He then went to college for 3 years and decided he needed to finish his mission so he is back now and this is his second change back this time. He didn't go to the MTC this time before, so he literally flew from Utah to el salvador and last change he had a 6 week refresher course and now he is our DL and I am his comp. So that's Elder Black for you guys.
SO this week we got a referral from church head quarters and we went to go contact this guy whose name is Julio. Julio is super super super smart and has an awesome wife as well. This might sound mean but its true. Most people in this country are not like Julio. He studied his butt off and is super smart and educated because of it. The difference I see in him and his wife is very clear. They are super awesome and we had a lesson with them for 2 hours. Thats a super long lesson. The guy had a notebook and took like 3 pages of notes during the time we were teaching him. It was a super great lesson. At the end me and my comp sang nearer my God to thee and the room was literally BURSTING with the spirit. So freaking cool. Experiences like that are payoffs for hours of studying scriptures, walking, and just being on the mission.
Their is one other thing I want to talk about that has been on my mind lately. I really liked something that Uckdorf said in this last reference. He said we believe in Christ and in the Gospel because of things we know, not because of things we don't know. And I just want all of you to remember that This is real. This church is true and that is why we believe in it. Not because it sounds nice or for any other reason. We believe in it because it it true.
Well, that's the big stuff that happened this week. I love all of you guys and appreciate all of you and the prayers and thoughts that you all give in my behalf. Thank you all for all that you do your amazing!
