Hey family and friends,
So this week was pretty cool. I can never get over just how different this place is. Its SO much different than AZ. This Sunday a bird flew into the chapel while we were singing the sacrament hymn and it totally distracted everyone from the sacrament, but it was super funny at the same time.
I taught a youth class for the first time this week, we are working with a family and the 4 kids came to church. So that was fun to teach them in that youth class. I taught them about the gospel and prayer. They really liked it they are great kids.
Oh also big news is that there are changes! I am staying here in Dangriga and I am recieving a new companion who is coming over from El Salvador and his name is Elder Contrerras from Guatemala. I still in my entire mission have only had 1 american companion in the mission field, that's it, but I am still going to be the DL here and I am excited to start a new change and everything. It is always exciting to start a change, something about starting a new change gives more energy. Its cool I am pumped.
Also this morning I ate waffles for the first time in a while! I LOVE waffles. And this member here named sister Enriquez has a waffle maker and she invited us over to eat waffles, it was really good. I mean it was only 1 waffle but still it was really good.
As far as the area and investigators go, we are doing well. We are also having success with activating some of these members that are a little less active. Which is very important. But as far as investigators go the most promising right now there are 3 main ones. Ceomarra, Nikki, and Julie Ceomarra has come to church like 4 or 5 times already, and so we just need to teach her and if she is willing to live all the commandments and keeps growing her testimony she can be baptized soon.
Nikki needs to come to church more, he has only come once. But he is very positive and looks very promising as well. We also need to teach him a lot more he doesn't have the lessons just knows about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Then Julie is great, she is married, WHICH IS SUPER RARE FOR BELIZE but she drinks and smokes and everything. When we taught her the word of wisdom and named the things we don't eat and drink, she said, "I do all that". But she is great and if she lets that go she will definitely be baptized. She has a testimony and is feeling the spirit really strong. She is awesome.
Its a really great experience to work with and help these people here. They are great people and I love them. I am excited to keep working with them in this next change coming up. I hope all of you have a great week!
I sent pics of me on a dock here in dangriga, and also of me in the church yesterday about to leave after the meeting and also me with the 4 youth that are not members that came to church last Sunday who I taught in the youth class I talked about.
